What is old frame modern?
It is a “modern” format built with expansions released before Scourge and products released before the 7th edition of the Basic Set!
For example, Propaganda from the latest Assassin's Creed supplement can be used in the old Modern format since it was first released in Tempest.
Similarly, Corrupt Courtier, which was re-recorded in New Kapena, can be used in the Portal Three Kingdoms, as it first appeared in Portal Three Kingdoms.
Please note that the recent old-frame cards cannot be used unless they were first released in the old-frame expansions.
(e.g., Urza, Supreme Master Craftsman of the Old Frame x Limb Amputation of the Old Frame x Sword of Light and Darkness of the Old Frame as a Judge's Prize).
Other than the restrictions of the constructed pool, the rules are exactly the same as in regular MTG, including mulligans and combat damage.
You can mix old and new frames with new and old frames when building. Extended art, full art, and showcase frames are also allowed in the pool!
The banned cards are Modern format compliant, and one card is currently banned in the blooming summer.
