If you want to play with a deck you cooked up yourself!

“Constructed” means you must construct a deck ahead of time. "Standard” is a great entry point since these cards are the most readily available and are usually relatively inexpensive! Standard is the most popular format because it’s comprised of just the most recent 2 years of new card sets! We hold a beginner-only tournament called the “Beginners’ Brawl” every month, and the format is always Standard, natch! ♪

Play immediately, even if you don’t have any cards!

“I wanna jam some Magic, but I don’t have any cards…” you say? Well, buck up, buddy, this format is for you! “Limited” events don’t use decks prepared ahead of time, so you can jump right in even if you show up empty-handed!

Limited is primarily divided into formats called “Sealed” and “Booster Draft” (or simply “Draft”)! “Sealed” is where you open six packs and from those, build a minimum 40-card deck on the spot. In Draft, you only use three packs. Players open a pack, take one card they like, pass the rest to their left neighbor, and repeat! After depleting the pack, you do it all again, but pass to the right, and then do it all one last time back in the original direction. After clearing three packs like this, you then make a minimum 40-card deck. In Hareruya Drafts, you keep what you pick, so it’s a great format for players looking to start up their collection! ♪
