RPTQ LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER

Bring your top strategies with you and two friends to a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier, and your team may be one of the few to emerge from the event with an invitation and airfare to Pro Tour 25th Anniversary!

Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers (RPTQs) for Pro Tour 25th Anniversary take place June 9-10, 2018 and June 23-24, 2018.

The format for these Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers is Team Unified Standard.

As a reminder, players are only allowed to compete in one Regional Pro Tour Qualifier per round.

QUALIFICATION

Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers are an invitation-only event. An invitation to participate in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier for Pro Tour 25th Anniversary is offered to the following:

  • ・Players with a Pro Tour Players Club Bronze or Silver level (as of the date of the Regional Pro Tour Qualifier).
  • ・Players that received an invitation to this round of Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers for their top finish at a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier for Pro Tour Dominaria.
  • ・Players that won a Regional Last Chance Qualifier that ties to that Regional Pro Tour Qualifier.
  • ・Players that are in the Pro Tour Hall of Fame. Players that are members of the Pro Tour Hall of Fame that choose to participate in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier automatically rescind their invitation to this Pro Tour.
  • Players that qualified via any of the above methods may bring any two players to compete with in this round of the Regional Pro Tour Qualifier, provided that those players are not ineligible to compete in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier (as noted below).

The following players may not compete in Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers for Pro Tour 25th Anniversary:

  • ・Players that previously participated in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier which awards an invitation to Pro Tour 25th Anniversary.
  • ・Players that finished in the Top 4 or finished with 36 or more match points in a team-format Grand Prix which awards invitations to Pro Tour 25th Anniversary.
  • ・Players that won a Pro Tour Qualifier (held at a Grand Prix) which awards invitations to Pro Tour 25th Anniversary.
  • ・Players that finished with 33 or more match points at Pro Tour Dominaria
  • ・Players with a Pro Tour Players Club Gold or Platinum level (as of the date of the Regional Pro Tour Qualifier).
  • ・Players that are otherwise already qualified for Pro Tour 25th Anniversary.

Pre-registration will start on May 24th at 6 pm.

People who applied for the pre-registration shall be regarded as they consented to disclosure of their personal information. Please note that the participants’ names and the last three digits of their DCI numbers might be disclosed on our website of the event as “List of registered people”.
Registration on the Day Unless it reaches capacity, we will accept registration on the day of the event.
The registration on the day takes place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

The structure for Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers is modified Swiss-style.
The top finishing teams after the Swiss rounds play in single-elimination playoff matches until only two teams remain in the event.

Team Unified Standard
Decklists are required.

TOURNAMENT LENGTH AND ADVANCEMENT

Swiss rounds are 50 minutes.
Single-elimination playoff matches have no time limit.
Number of Swiss rounds based on attendance according to the following chart:

PLAYOFF

  • -Playoff matches will be best 2 of 3 per individual match.
  • -Playoff matches will be single-elimination.
  • -While there are no time limits in the playoff rounds, players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and finish their matches within 60 minutes.
  • -Standings after the Swiss rounds will be used to determine final order in the standings for losing players in the quarterfinal and semifinal playoff rounds.
  • -For the first game of each match in the playoff, the team which finished higher in the Swiss rounds chooses either to play first or to play second. For subsequent games in each playoff match, the usual Play/Draw rule applies (loser of the previous game decides whether to play first in the next game).
  • -The Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules and the Magic: The Gathering Infraction Procedure Guide are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Fact Sheet.
  • -Players are responsible for bringing their own method of tracking life totals and appropriate counters or tokens.

  • -All participants in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier receive an exclusive Noble Hierarchn promo card(while supplies last).
  • -All participants in a Regional Pro Tour Qualifier receive an exclusive deck box(while supplies last).
  • -The Top 2 finishing trios at each Regional Pro Tour Qualifier will receive invitations and travel awards* to Pro Tour 25th Anniversary.
  • -The Top 4 finishing trios at each Regional Pro Tour Qualifier will receive invitations to the next round of Regional Pro Tour Qualifiers.
  • -The Top 8 trios in each Regional PTQ will receive a Regional PTQ playmat.
  • -Booster Prizes will be awarded as follows, depending on the number of teams that participated at each Regional PTQ (prizes are per team):

*Travel

The players eligible to receive a travel award will receive instructions from Wizards of the Coast regarding whom they must contact and the deadline by which they must arrange their travel awards. Wizards of the Coast will not refund travel made outside this service. Wizards of the Coast reserves the right to award a cash equivalent award in lieu of any travel award in its sole discretion.

All travel itineraries must be from the international airport nearest the player's home and to the host city of the Pro Tour, and must include all the dates of that event. No award will be substituted if member is unable to participate. All other expenses are the responsibility of the member and may include, without limitation, accommodations, ground transportation, taxes, itinerary change fees, passport and visa fees.

This award must be redeemed through member's arrangement of travel itinerary no later than (30) days before departure. Failure to complete travel arrangements as directed by Wizards of the Coast prior to this deadline will result in forfeiture of the award. Every member receiving a travel award must provide to Wizards of the Coast an executed liability release, the appropriate US taxation form (W9 or W8) (or have one on file), up-to-date contact information on your DCI membership, and proof of ID and passport (when required by international destination). In all cases, all such documentation must be provided to Wizards of the Coast, or must have been previously on file, at least thirty (30) days before departure. Failure to timely provide such documentation will result in forfeiture of the award.

Players under the age of eighteen (18) at the time of the Pro Tour will receive a cash equivalent award in lieu of expenses, paid air ticket, and/or hotel accommodations. Such player must still attend, compete, and be listed in the finish of the tournament or forfeit this award.
